Iain, Anne and Peter Hoffmann with Gaga, 45 Durham Road Portobello
We went
down to Nana’s and had a great Sunday roast dinner. In the afternoon Gaga took Anne; Iain and me down to the pitch 'n
putt at Musselburgh. I'm not much of a player but it's a good game. We had our
traditional John West Sunday tea of salmon bread 'n butter and home-made scones
'n buns.
There's a certain timelessness about these Sundays at Nana and Gaga’s
which we all enjoy. It's the best food we get all week but it's also about
other things too. We tend to behave ourselves reasonably well; Porty is a wee
change from Oxgangs; Nana and Gaga shower us with everything that is good; the
house and garden are interesting and of course just being a Sunday makes it
special too.
After tea Gaga ran us back home to Oxgangs in the Singer Vogue. I
tidied up our bedroom. Later on I was a bit bored so I went out on the bike for
a wee contemplative ride up to Redford and back.
