Sunday 6th August 1972

It's maybe a Sunday but there’s still milk to do but the streets are pretty empty and quiet. I went down to Meadowbank and took part in the training. I’ve been a few times this week, almost more than in the previous few months combined. I think with seeing it on telly and with the Olympics coming up that that has something to do with it.

Bob Langley

As there was no Paul Forbes I went down to Nana and Gaga’s for lunch and relaxed there all afternoon. I watched Bob Langley walking ‘The Pennine Way’ - I quite like him.

After an early tea Gaga gave me a lift up to Charlotte Chapel which I always enjoy.

I like the structure; it’s always interesting; it’s pitched at a pretty good level with some humour too; and the people who attend are really lovely. Afterwards the YPM went back to Liz’s for a drink of juice before coming home. A nice Sunday.

Sunday 23rd July 1972

Rev. Derek Prime

Paul and I went back down to Meadowbank to train for the first time in a couple of months or so. I quite enjoyed it and it was good to be back. Although I haven’t been doing any running I’m generally very fit just now. We spent the day there and sneaked on to the tennis courts for a few hours before going up to Charlotte Chapel. The minister the Reverend Derek Prime took our training bags for us and put them in a side room.

Moira Cameron

Afterwards we went to the YPM which was quite good all of course enhanced by the charms of Moira Cameron. I might be getting a game of tennis with her. She’ll be good as being at Mary Erskine’s School she’ll have been taught how to play the game properly unlike me who’s just a natural. Back to Oxgangs; Paul’s staying overnight which is great.

Sunday 2nd July 1972

With it being a Sunday and getting down early we managed to secure a tennis court down at Colinton Mains Park okay and played tennis all morning.

In the afternoon it was good to sit back and relax watching a good film called Wake Me When It’s Over.

Come teatime I took the 16 down to Charlotte Chapel and once again also went along to the YPM afterwards; it was good. Of course seeing the lovely Moira Cameron is what really makes it enjoyable; she’s really great looking. Her family are rich running Edinburgh leather goods shops. Once back home to 6/2 I just sat about.
