Friday 16th July 1971

I did the milk round; Sid gave each of us 5/- shillings which was pretty decent of him; he's leaving with a wee bit of class.

I worked at the National garage again. The days have followed a pattern this week and once again I was away mid-afternoon to sell papers at the City Hospital. I've enjoyed myself and there's the added wee bonus that it's pay-day the morn.

Iain and Ali Douglas are away to the pictures; Anne meanwhile went down to stay at Nana’s.

I've just had some ice cream from Tony's; later on I had some chips from Rissi’s. Mum and I had a good laugh watching Look - Mike Yarwood. He's really good at impersonating Steptoe 'n Son.
